Years before she won an Oscar or played Katniss Everdeen in the blockbuster Hunger Games movie franchise, Jennifer Lawrence was just a small-town girl acting in high school plays!
In a recently released throwback clip from years ago, a teenage J.Law performs the part of Desdemona in a local Louisville production of William Shakespeare's Othello. The flashback video proves that Lawrence had serious acting chops even as a young girl. She also showcases her vocal talents with some on-stage singing in the vintage video.
"She was precocious and energetic," Charlie Sexton, director of the Walden Theater in Louisville and a former mentor of Lawrence, recently told CNN.
"She had to sing a cappella and that's not easy to do and a lot of kids will shy away from it," he added of Lawrence. "That doesn't surprise me that she had the courage to do that because she was determined and unflappable."
Too cute!
This isn't the first time we've gotten a glimpse of J.Law from back in her school days. Last year, a photo of the 24-year-old making funny faces with friends in middle school hit the web, proving Lawrence has always been an adorable goofball.
