Jake Gyllenhaal's Impressive Abs Will Get Your Heart Beating a Whole Lot Faster—Take a Look!

Is it just us or did it get really hot all of a sudden?!
We heard Jake Gyllenhaal was going through quite the physical transformation for his new movie Southpaw. But now that we have photographic evidence, we're left totally shocked (and equally impressed).
The 33-year-old actor looks unrecognizable in a new still from the upcoming film, which tells the story of Junior Middleweight Champion Billy "The Great" Hope.
"I had him training twice a day in the boxing ring, he did two-a-days seven days a week," director Antoine Fuqua shared with Deadline when describing the actor's fitness regimen. "I pretty much had him with me and my trainer every day."
He added, "I'm confident that this will change how people see Jake, as a leading man." Well, it certainly got a whole lot of ladies excited!

The weight gain comes after the actor was forced to do the exact opposite for his recent role in Nightcrawler.
As a twisted crime paparazzo, Gyllenhaal had to drop 30 pounds from his 180-pound frame.
"I would try to eat as few calories as possible," he told Variety. "I knew if I was hungry that I was in the right spot. Physically, it showed itself, but chemically and mentally, I think it was even a more fascinating journey. It became a struggle for me."
The weight loss even got his mom just a tad bit worried. Don't worry, he's looking good these days Mama Gyllenhaal!
So when can we see the actor put his muscles to good use in the boxing ring? Turns out the movie isn't scheduled until 2015. All together now, signnnnn.
