Lindsay Lohan Powering Through Scary-Sounding Virus on Her Holiday Vacation

Lindsay Lohan was laid low, but she's powering through.
The actress revealed the other day that she contracted chikungunya, a virus that comes from mosquito bites, during her week-long holiday vacation in French Polynesia.
"Before I got chikungunya…use Big spray please …God bless," Lohan tweeted Saturday, obviously meaning bug spray, and linking to a photo of herself jet-skiing in what was otherwise paradise.
Per the World Health Organization, chukungunya's symptoms can include rash, fatigue, nausea, headache, muscle pain, fever and severe joint pain
None of that sounds like the making for a very merry Christmas, but Lohan, who had posted earlier in the week about the importance of taking "alone time" to clear one's head, seemed to be maintaining a positive attitude.
"In good faith with good people," she captioned a pic yesterday of herself alongside pals. "I refuse to let a virus effect my peaceful vacation...be safe and happy on the new year all...#wildfox and a positive, healthy new year." (And don't forget the bug spray!)
She also tweeted, "Being sick is no fun. But happy new year everyone. Be safe. Love all. Make a difference and keep your…" but the Instagram link she included no longer works, so that thought remains unfinished for now.
