Amy Poehler, Chrissy Teigen and More Cover-Up at 2015 Golden Globes

Perhaps it was the drizzle. Maybe it was the 60-something degree temps. Whatever the case, the leading ladies at the 2015 Golden Globes proved that, sure, maybe sexy sells, but a slightly more conservative look leaves a lot less to be desired.
Featuring relatively high necklines, long sleeves and statuesque silhouettes, many A-list gowns of the night were missing the cleavage, high slits and va-va-voom factor we often see during award show season. In many cases, this somewhat demure approach elevated an entire red carpet look, taking the elegance and sophistication status to a whole new level.
Diane Kruger and Elie Kemper were striking in silver gowns, allowing the textures and seemingly simple silhouettes to shine.

Kelly Osbourne in a navy Edition by Georges Chakra, Laura Prepon in black, gothic-esque Christian Siriano and Chrissy Teigen in a super-embellished Zuhair Murad gown established that longer sleeves—with the right design details—lend a sultry appeal reminiscent of the femme fatales of film noir past.

Taking a much more minimalist approach, co-host of the night Amy Poehler looked equal parts comfortable and regal in a floor-length, long-sleeve royal blue Stella McCartney gown, proving that confidence is the best accessory.
It's likely that this look will extend to future award show red carpets…if not for its classic glam appeal then just simply for the innate warming features. Hey, February is frigid.
