Looks like Taylor Swift s bestie took a page out of her book. Rumors swirled last year that Ed Sheeran's hit "Don't" was about Ellie Goulding cheating on him with One Direction's Niall Horan and it appears the truth has finally come out.
When asked in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly if he wished he didn't let it "slip" that the song was about the two, Sheeran explained, "I never let it slip. What happened was one of the newspapers in England just printed that it was confirmed when it never was. We got in touch, and they took the story down. But obviously the damage had already been done by that point because every other newspaper picked up on it. So I never actually confirmed it. "
In a radio interview in 2013, the "Thinking Out Loud" singer did fess up that he and Goulding were dating during the MTV Video Music Awards where the two singers were caught holding hands but that the relationship was over.
One thing's for sure, Sheeran is not apologizing for penning the angry and honest tune. " I had to be as honest as possible in that song because otherwise what's the f–king point? There'd be no anger or pain in that song if it was just very sweet and nice. The whole reason people connected to it was because everyone's been that angry at one point, everyone's hated their partner or spouse like, "Don't f— with this." For me, it needed to be done. It didn't necessarily have to go on the album, but it definitely needed to be written."
Looks like time heals all and Sheeran and Horan are back to being buds. The two recently partied together after the 2015 Billboard Music Awards where they were snapped in the photobooth with Swift and her boyfriend Calvin Harris. In one shot,  Horan is seen kissing the redheaded singer on the cheek. The bromance lives on.
If we have learned anything from the sitch, it's this, Don't eff with Ed's heart.
