Bill Cosby's lawyer is taking aim at three of the comedian's latest accusers by arguing that it's "utter nonsense" that these women are "coming out of nowhere."
Marty Singer calls Linda Joy Traitz of Florida as the "latest example of people coming out of the woodwork with fabricated or unsubstantiated stories" about the 77-year-old comedian. Traitz reportedly wrote on her Facebook page that, at 19, she worked at a Cosby-owned restaurant in Los Angeles when the comedian once offered her a ride home. He took her to the beach instead, she wrote, where he reached into a suitcase and offered her "pills to relax." She also alleged he became "sexually aggressive" before she demanded that he take her home.
"Linda Joy Traitz is making ridiculous claims and suddenly seems to have a lot to say about a fleeting incident she says happened with my client more than 40 years ago," said Singer in a statement. "There was no briefcase of drugs and this is an absurd fabrication."
Meanwhile, Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno's wife Carla went on a Los Angeles radio show Thursday and alleged that Cosby once manhandled her while she was a guest in his house in 1967 – Cosby's wife, Camille, was allegedly home at the time. The former Playboy Bunny said the comedian kissed her "forcefully" while they were playing pool.
"This continued pattern of attacks on Mr. Cosby has entered the realm of the ridiculous, with a purported 'forceful kiss' at a party in 1967, nearly 50 years ago, being treated as a current 'news story' and grossly mischaracterized as 'sexual assault,' " Singer said. "This is utter nonsense. People coming out of nowhere with this sort of inane yarn is what happens in a media-driven feeding frenzy."
Singer also addressed claims by Former actress Louisa Moritz, now 68, who told TMZ that Cosby forced her to perform oral sex in her dressing room before she was set to appear on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1971.
"We've reached the point of absurdity. The stories are getting more ridiculous," said Singer. "I think people are trying to come up with these wild stories in order to justify why they have waited 40 to 50 years to disclose these ridiculous accusations."
Several other women have come forward with allegations that the former star of NBC's The Cosby Show drugged and sexually assaulted them several decades ago. One of the most recent to speak out was Therese Serignese, now 57, who told PEOPLE that she was assaulted by Cosby when she was 19.
